Where did the last 9 months go?
Today is Holland and Cole's 9 month birthday - if there is such a thing. Where has the time gone? We went to the doctor on Friday for their 9 month appointment and they are doing great. Here are their measurements:
Holland:
Weight - 18 lbs 9 oz -- 25-50%
Length - 28 in -- 50-75%
Head Circumference - 44.5 cms -- 50%
Cole
Weight - 19 lbs 2 oz -- 25% (Note: he absolutely filled his diaper prior to weighing in)
Length - 27.5 in -- 25%
Head Circumference - 46.5 cms -- 75-90%
The doctor was happy with their development. I guess we haven't messed them up too bad - yet.
Here are some cute pictures Mindy took yesterday after church. For being tired babies, they still knew that when the camera is out, they have to ham it up. Cue smile. They get that from their daddy.

And one last picture of Holland and Cole saying "hi" to Lucy. This picture was followed with a swift Cole swat to Lucy's face.
After two years of wondering if our "Marley" was ever going to calm down, she finally has. Words cannot describe how good Lucy has been with the babies. She lets them hit her face, pull her hair, and grab her paws - all the while she just lays there like "yellow dog" should. If you were to ask the kids who is the funniest in the house, they would probably say Lucy. I don't know what it is about Lucy, but whenever she is around them, they are laughing at her.

Motor Boating and Constipation Relief - More from Charleston
So it was good time with the family down in Charleston, South Carolina. Specifically, we were at Wild Dunes which is a resort on Isle of Palms. We highly recommend it. The kids experienced a number of firsts that week - namely the beach and the pool.
Here is a video of the kids going to the ocean for the first time. They didn't cry too much, but it was also obvious that they weren't the biggest fans.
Here are some pictures from their first time in the pool - which they absolutely loved....
Cole wondering what the heck he is doing in a big bath tub
It is hard to see in the small picture, but if you make it bigger you will notice that Holland is either splashing the water, practicing for the Lake Wylie Synchronized Swim Team, or getting back to her German roots.
Holland loves splashing
The happy family...and two babies that love to splash
Holland could stay in there all day
Cole loves to kick...and chill
With rolls like that, it is pretty apparent that Holland floats.
"I'm the king of the world"

Later in the week, Paw Paw decided to play peek-a-boo with the babies. With a head that large, he can't help but be funny.
Finally, at some point in the week, the kids got a little constipated. Fear not, mommy came to the rescue with the prunes. Unfortunately for daddy, she gave the kids the ENTIRE jar at one time and he had to live with the consequences. Here are the happy babies after eating their prunes.

Charleston Trip
GiGi, Paw Paw, Pop, Mommy, Daddy, Cole, and Holland all took a trip to the coast for an entire week! We had such a great time even though the weather did not cooperate every day... Hopefully Daddy will upload the pictures of us swimming and playing in the ocean after we get back from Kentucky this weekend!

Baby Boat Ride
Mike and Sherrie were nice enough to take us out on their pontoon today and we strolled around the lake. The kiddos like looking around the the other boats, birds, and such. However, as you can imagine, they are not to fond of the life jackets. Luckily, with the help of TW "Don't call me Mayor" Hardwick, we found out that life jackets aren't required to be worn in South Carolina if the boat is longer than 16 feet - we just have to keep them in close proximity to the kids. Needless to say, we won't be crossing the border with the babies. The summer just got a little better!

Lea halalelaaaaaaaa
Holland and Cole were baptized on Sunday. It was a beautiful day and the kids did great. Mindy and I were so happy (and grateful) to have our family and friends there for the big day.
Here is the video from the church...
And here are some pictures from the day...
