Motor Boating and Constipation Relief - More from Charleston

So it was good time with the family down in Charleston, South Carolina. Specifically, we were at Wild Dunes which is a resort on Isle of Palms. We highly recommend it. The kids experienced a number of firsts that week - namely the beach and the pool.

Here is a video of the kids going to the ocean for the first time. They didn't cry too much, but it was also obvious that they weren't the biggest fans.

Here are some pictures from their first time in the pool - which they absolutely loved....

Cole wondering what the heck he is doing in a big bath tub

Holland is not sure if she likes this quite yet

Holland motorboating.

It is hard to see in the small picture, but if you make it bigger you will notice that Holland is either splashing the water, practicing for the Lake Wylie Synchronized Swim Team, or getting back to her German roots.
Holland loves splashing
The happy family...and two babies that love to splash
Holland could stay in there all day
Cole loves to kick...and chill
With rolls like that, it is pretty apparent that Holland floats.

Later in the week, Paw Paw decided to play peek-a-boo with the babies. With a head that large, he can't help but be funny.

Finally, at some point in the week, the kids got a little constipated. Fear not, mommy came to the rescue with the prunes. Unfortunately for daddy, she gave the kids the ENTIRE jar at one time and he had to live with the consequences. Here are the happy babies after eating their prunes.

If you want to see more pictures from the trip, you can check them out on Snapfish:

Charleston Trip

GiGi, Paw Paw, Pop, Mommy, Daddy, Cole, and Holland all took a trip to the coast for an entire week! We had such a great time even though the weather did not cooperate every day... Hopefully Daddy will upload the pictures of us swimming and playing in the ocean after we get back from Kentucky this weekend!

Lea halalelaaaaaaaa

Holland and Cole were baptized on Sunday. It was a beautiful day and the kids did great. Mindy and I were so happy (and grateful) to have our family and friends there for the big day.

Here is the video from the church...

And here are some pictures from the day...

Christmas 2008... Doubley Blessed!

This year's Christmas was extra special for us! With the additional of Holland and Cole, Christmas had a new meaning. We have been very blessed and are very thankful for our new family! Holland, Cole, Mommy, and Daddy (no Lucy this year... thanks Hardwicks for puppysitting!) made the big trek up to Kentucky and Indiana. The babies did exceptionally well considering all we put them through! Holland and Cole loved meeting their cousins Audrey and Leah and their Uncle Shawn. They also loved all their new second cousins (I avoided the water this year!). And as always they loved being cuddle by their Paw Paw, Gi Gi, Pop, Aunt Jenn, Aunt Kimmie, Maw Maw and everyone else willing and ready to snuggle! We can't wait to make a trip back up north to see family again soon.

Holland and Cole at MawMaw's house. Thanks for all the hospitality MawMaw! We love you!

Joseph, Cash, Cole, and Holland.... all best friends!

Nothing like a Pop to snuggle on!

Paw Paw, GiGi, and their newsboy and French girl grandbabies!

All this excitement really wore a Cole-man out!

Holland and Cole in the hospital

Holland and Cole stayed in the hospital from Monday to Friday. They had a great time and the nurses loved stopping by - even if they weren't on their rounds.

Here are some of their favorite memories from their stay...

Mommy and Pop with the newest extensions to the Scherer family tree.
Pop decides he wants to keep Holland to himself.
Mommy is excited to hold her new babies.
Mommy thinks that Mr. Cole is too cute.
Mommy talks to Miss Holland - Miss Holland would rather sleep.
Mr. Cole decides he is a little Wildcat. Finally, someone in the Scherer family has good taste.
Miss Holland in her pretty headband. No wonder Pop wanted to steal her.
Jenn and Elsa come to visit.
Our grandfathers are proud.
It is a day later and Cole is still a little Wildcat.
Holland isn't ready to talk sports.
The happy family. Holland says, "wait, I am not ready for the picture!"
We love it when our GiGi holds us.
Linda Cottingham comes to visit. Dirty Dan is busy running for Mayor of Lake Wylie.
It is time for us to go home.
Cole is a little tense.
Holland says, "put me in that truck. I am ready to sleep!"
After a few minutes of crying, "Mr. Cole decides this travel thing is not that bad"
Riding in the truck gives Holland the giggles.
